Educational crisis modern Russia
It is actual fact, that humanist professions are very lucrative nowadays. Since childhood a lot of people suppose such profession to be very absorbing. With such an opinion they are brought up in their families, go to school, to a institute and finally they begin educating their own children that way. Cul-de-sac.
Why is it so? What do make people think that technological sciences have lost their importance?
There are several causes.
first present machinery reached such a high degree of development that the majority of people is capable of using it without having special engineering education. Consequently there is no need for further spreading of engineering skill. Humanits use begins dominating in all aspects of life.
Secondly it is an well known fact that we are in the consumer society. People in it don’t want to work with their hands. They prefer to depict the world around and use products, but not to produce something by themselves. Of course this phenomenon does not affect positively on dissemination of technological knowledge. People are simply not concerned with it.
Thirdly the resource base has achieved such a extent of desolation that we often have no place for work after studying the theory.
after all a very major thing is the policy of the government. What professions does it suppose as needed today? We can easily learn it by watching our mass-media. The internet, the television, the radio, the press – what specialities do they promote now? It is easy to prove that they are full of non-technical images. Mass-media show us pleasant, nice life in which there is no place for hard-work, but there are a lot of talks, beautiful scenes and fantasies.
What do we have as a in the issue?
Lack of experienced workers in the technical sphere. There are a lot of philosophers, lawyers, artists, singers, politicians, professors but a few people, able to operate for example a jointer planer. This will cause a difficult situation when we will be lacking very simple things which are very important for our comfortable way of living.
Besides that our education system is totally destroyed. There is no technical literature of high quality – it is either sold or lost. There is no qualified teachers able to train adequate personnel working in non-humanist spheres.
Such is the picture. Sad, isn’t it?
Then, there is an adequate question: what should our state do in order to correct the state? it is clear that there are several actions to be taken. First of all our state should change its attitude towards technical professions and specialities and theirs perspectives. state should do its best in order to popularize technical professions in mass-media.
And of course, the best way to save technological professions is to assign enough means both for the payment for the people who work in this sphere and to the creating an adequate resource base.
